Three Steps to Becoming Accredited
1) Submit an application form
Once we receive your Expression of Interest, the Registrar can determine if your post-secondary program meets the basic eligibility criteria and schedule your program for review. You will receive notification of your acceptance, which upon receipt requires you to confirm your commitment to start the full accreditation review process.
2) Prepare a self-study
Compile a portfolio that demonstrates your program’s alignment with the National and Curriculum Standards.
3) Host volunteers for a site visit
The self-study is reviewed by a team of qualified and trained academic and industry volunteers who verify the portfolio information during a two-day site visit. These volunteers take their findings and recommendations to the Canadian Environmental Accreditation Commission, who make a final decision on the accreditation status of your program.
Accreditation is granted for a 5-year term.
