ECO Canada awards $2,500 annually to four Canadian students. The amount is provided to each student for their first year’s tuition in an environment-related program at any Canadian post-secondary institution, which can include, but is not limited to, engineering, sciences, social sciences, and mathematics. Browse our Program Directory for more information on environment-related programs.
Scholarships are awarded to individuals who have shown leadership in their communities in the areas of environmental protection, resource management, or environmental sustainability. Students are chosen based on the reference letter and essay they submit about their environmental accomplishments and ambitions.
The top candidate each year is also awarded the Edit Petrovic Memorial Scholarship.
To qualify for the ECO Canada scholarship students must:
-
Have graduated from high school in 2011, or be graduating in 2012
-
Have been accepted into an environment-related program at a Canadian post-secondary institution for the fall of 2012
-
Be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant
-
Have demonstrated environmental leadership in their communities
