GREEN Your School

Do you have an interest in the environment? Want to make a difference in your school? Get involved in the GREEN High Schools program―it’s easy!

To get your school recognized nationally as a GREEN High School, simply follow these steps:

  1. Form a team
  2. Complete an environmentally sustainable project
  3. Share your experiences with ECO Canada

Why Get Involved?

Make a positive impact on your school and community. You and your friends can turn your passion for the environment into an action-based project that will teach others in your school and across Canada about the importance of living sustainably.

By sharing your project, your school could be recognized:

  • On the ECO Canada website
  • On the SEEDS Foundation website
  • In the ECO Explorer e-bulletin, distributed to over 1,600 students and educators
  • In the Seedling Review, distributed to 14,000 schools across Canada

If your project goes above and beyond the minimum requirements, your school could also win one of three $1,000 cash prizes.

Your school will be profiled on the ECO Canada website and featured in national and local media press releases. Plus, you and your team will receive certificates of recognition to help enhance your portfolio for future education and employment opportunities.

The exemplary projects will be selected by a panel of judges and will demonstrate:

  • A greater understanding of environmental careers
  • An impact on the greater community
  • Involvement from multiple stakeholders
  • Plans for sustaining the project
  • Sharing project successes and lessons learned with others
