Retention of environmental staff has become a big issue for employers, according to a recent report by Calgary based ECO Canada.
The report found there is increasing demand and competition for the estimated 530,400 technicians and specialists who work in the areas of environmental conservation, protection, and ecological policy development in Canada. Other stats include:

36% of respondents expect to leave their job in the next five years.

10% expect to be in their current job in five years.

72% have been with their current employer for five years or less.
