Carleton is pleased to announce its Honours Bachelor of Science Environmental Science program has been accredited by Environmental Careers Organization Canada.
One of only three Canadian universities currently accredited, Carleton’s environmental science program has been specifically recognized for equipping undergraduates to be successful and competent environmental scientists when entering the job market.
Accreditation is a new national process under the auspice of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Commission, which oversees the certification of environmental professionals.
After graduation and five years of experience, graduates will be able to write their professional certification exams, similar to engineers obtaining their Professional Engineering Certification.
The major benefit of this accreditation is the assurance that it is highly relevant in the dynamic Canadian environmental industry and it gives students a competitive edge when they are looking for employment or career development.
