March 11, 2010 - Toronto resident, Dana Fryer, recently claimed first in a nationwide photo contest hosted by ECO Canada.
Last month close to 500 Canadians put their photography skills to the test by submitting photos for the chance to be awarded a prize valued up to 400 dollars. Photographers of all walks of life were asked to capture Canada’s landscape and the peop

In each category 6 finalists were selected and voted on by the public. Dana Fryer, a 26 year old Production Designer wowed voters with her depiction of Canadian wilderness, earning first prize in the Landscape category. Her inspiration: The Rockies.
“Last summer, I spent a long weekend at Lake O'Hara Lodge. I knew The Rockies would be beautiful, but I had no idea just how spectacular they really are. It was impossible not to be inspired when surrounded by such breath-taking beauty,” says Fryer.
Fryer’s passion extends to more than just photography; she is also very passionate about the environment. “Canadians define so much of our identity by our environment. I feel it is essential that we invest the time and resources necessary to protect it, both on an individual and national level. It is our home after all!”
