Certifying Bodies Unite at Environmental Conference
March 24, 2010 – As environment industry stakeholders and government representatives from around the world come together to chart the progress of the environmental sector at the GLOBE 2010 Conference & Trade Fair in Vancouver, ECO Canada is building partnerships to address labour and skills shortages.
ECO Canada and the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the GLOBE Conference on March 25th, demonstrating that environmental work requires a global effort.
There is a mutual understanding for the growing need for professional standards and certification that are recognized both locally and internationally. This MOU will encourage the highest possible standards and certification in both countries. ECO Canada and EIANZ see this collaboration as a way to provide unified leadership on the business of the environment in Canada and Australia. This agreement will facilitate an exchange of information and best practices and will set the stage for the inclusion of other international professional environmental bodies as ECO Canada and EIANZ build an expanding international network.
