ECO Canada Honours HR Excellence in the Environmental Sector
March, 2011 – ECO Canada’s annual Environmental Employer of the Year Awards recognises companies in the environment industry for their commitment and dedication to human resource (HR) excellence. These awards are unique in that winning organizations are selected based on the evaluation and feedback of their employees—a true testament to a company’s efforts in aligning HR practices to support and strengthen workplace culture.
This year’s winners are SIMS Recycling Solutions (large company category) and EDI Environmental Dynamics Inc. (small-medium sized category).
“EDI’s entire team is extremely proud to receive the 2011 Environmental Employer of the Year Award. Unlike many corporate awards, this one is largely based on employee feedback and to know that our employees value their work as well as the corporate philosophies and culture is very gratifying. Our employees make EDI a great company and we really feel that this award is a reflection of our entire team of passionate environmental professionals” states Bob Redden, President – EDI Environmental Dynamics Inc.
The awards are distributed based on the results of a company employee satisfaction survey that is administered and analyzed by ECO Canada. A committee of HR professionals then evaluates both the organization’s HR practices and employee satisfaction results to determine a winner. All applicants gain access to the employee satisfaction survey and receive a comprehensive report of the results for free.
“Well-developed HR practices are the basis for any company’s success, but particularly when you consider the recruitment and retention demands of our industry today,” said Grant Trump, President and CEO of ECO Canada.
