Training Programs

ECO Canada has developed culturally relevant, skills-based environmental training programs for Aboriginal (First Nation, Métis, and Inuit) learners. Each program is community-based and inclusive of Aboriginal culture and local knowledge.

Apply to Become a Licensed Trainer

Public or private organizations (e.g., colleges, environmental companies, etc.) can apply to become licensed trainers. Licensed trainers can then use the curriculum and instructional materials to deliver training programs anywhere in Canada.

Programs are  designed to be short-term, community based, employment focused, integrate local knowledge and offer practical field experience.

Current programs available for licensing include:

  • Environmental Site Assessment Assistant
  • Local Environmental Coordinator
  • Contaminated Sites Remediation Coordinator
  • Solid Waste Coordinator
  • Land Use Planning Coordinator
  • Environmental Monitoring
