About the Project
The need to develop effective recruitment and retention practices is becoming a top priority for environmental organizations in Canada, as the industry is challenged with both the retirement of the baby boomer generation and the struggle to retain top talent. One of the top priorities is to identify causal factors impacting the engagement and retention of employees—particularly among mid-to-senior level workers. With the inclusion of stakeholders, ECO Canada will use this understanding to document Human Resource (HR) best practices and develop workplace retention tools and resources for environmental organizations in order to overcome current and future HR challenges. Some of these outcomes include:
-
HR Best Practices Report
-
Employee Satisfaction Survey
-
HR Evaluation Packages and Assessment Survey
-
Online HR Centre
-
Benefits and Workplace Practices Report and Survey
These publications, web tools, and surveys will be available through a variety of media to help inform employers on employee engagement methods. The ultimate impact of these initiatives will result in greater engagement of professionals in the workplace and an increased prevalence of transfer of knowledge programs such as succession planning initiatives, mentorship programs, and leadership and talent management strategies.
