2010 Profile of Canadian Environmental Employment
The 2010 Profile of Canadian Environmental Employment is a unique study representing the most comprehensive estimate of environmental employment and use of environmental skills in Canada. It is the first study performed by ECO Canada that measures the number of workers employed in specific environmental occupations. This survey’s focus on environmental occupations and skills extends research previously performed that identified environmental employment in each industry, across sectors of the economy.

About the Project
ECO Canada is conducting an Employer Labour Demand study to measure demand for environmental workers in Canada. The overall objective of this Sector Study is to examine the current and future labour requirements and characteristics of environmental employment.
The study is informed by survey responses from human resource managers/hiring managers at a stratified sample of firms throughout Canada using the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code. The survey will also measure environmental employment by the environmental occupational profiles (NOS) defined by ECO Canada (refer National Occupational Standards report).
