Compensation & Benefits

Compensation and benefits data is critical in HR planning.

ECO Canada has developed the country's 1st compensation and benefits report for environmental occupations. Using this inaugural study as a platform, we are developing an online application that allows employers to receive salary and benefits data directly relevant to them in real time. That system is set to launch in late 2010.

ECO Canada's Environmental Occupations Compensation & Benefits 2009 Report featured 16 of the top occupations in the sector:

• Environmental Engineer
• Environmental Technician/Technologist
• Biologist
• Agrologist
• Chemist
• Civil Engineer
• Geoscientist
• Lab Technician/ Technologist
• Project/ Program Coordinator
• Project/ Program Manager
• Conservation Technician/Technologist
• Environmental Educator
• Geomatics Technician/Technologist
• Hydrogeologist
• Land Use Planner

The study offers detailed information on all forms of compensation, including: salaries, bonuses, RRSP and pension contributions and all other benefits. Statistics can be further broken down by job level, primary industry, region of Canada and company size for additional segmentation of this broad and diverse sector.
