2009 Competencies for Greenhouse Gas Professionals in Canada
For certain occupations that are not normally characteristic for traditional environmental work, specific NOS can be created to articulate the occupation. Greenhouse Gas is on such area.
Greenhouse Gas Verifiers are the independent, objective party who perform evaluations of how a company/organization/project has established inventory and/or projects and report results.
Greenhouse Gas Quantifiers (at the Project Level) quantify, asses and report emission and emission reductions that result from GHG mitigation projects. Among other things, the set a baseline against which the project’s emission reductions are compared.
Greenhouse Gas Quantifiers (at the Organizational Level) quantify, assess and report emissions and removals resulting from the activities of organizations, entities or facilities. They determine inventory boundaries, quantify GHG emissions and removals and assess the inventory against a baseline.
The NOS for Greenhouse Gas Professionals are used to create a set of competency profiles for each area of specialization as defined below.
