Become a GREEN High School
The GREEN High Schools Program recognizes the environmentally sustainable actions of students, teachers, and schools across Canada.
This annual program encourages student-led, action-based projects that work to:
-
Enhance the environment;
-
Communicate about the environment; and/or
-
Demonstrate the sustainable use of resources.
Each project must include a career component where students are asked to consider employment opportunities post-graduation.

Created in partnership with the SEEDS Foundation, this program bridges the gap between environmental education and career exploration.
ECO Canada would also like to recognize the support and professional guidance of the National Advisory Committee and Calgary Working Group members, who played an integral role in the development process of this program.
WHY BECOME A GREEN HIGH SCHOOL?
Three schools will be awarded a cash prize of $1,000 each for projects that go above and beyond the minimum program requirements and demonstrate a greater understanding of environmental careers. These prizes are made possible by the generous support of Waste Management, a proud sponsor of the GREEN High Schools program.
