Job Description

Reporting to the Environmental Director, the chosen candidate will be called upon to consult with managers about issues or projects that pertain to the environment, to conduct environmental assessments of various sites, to perform environmental compliance audits and to perform different tasks related to corporate environmental management in the field of fertilizer sales.


Under the supervision of the Environmental Director, your responsibilities will be:

  • To take part in the ongoing implementation of the company's Environmental Management System;
  • To consult with managers from Agrico facilities as well as those part if its network of for issues of projects that pertain to the environment and to the application of environment related policies and strategies;
  • To develop solutions and monitoring tools to minimize the company's environmental impact;
  • To conduct environmental site assessment (ESA) - Phase I studies, to perform environmental compliance audits, to follow-up on certain environmental site assessments for Phase II sites, including various tasks related to corporate environmental management in the field of fertilizer sales;
  • To write and distribute documents as well as perform activities to raise awareness about environmental issues.

This job requires accasional travel to the provinces of Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.


  • You hold a Masters' degree in the Environment or a Bachelors' degree in an appropriate field;
  • You have 5 years of relevant experience;
  • You are knowledgeable about environmental regulations in the following provinces: Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta;
  • You are a member of one or several of the following associations: Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO), Auditing Association of Canada and/or Associated Environmental Site Assessors of Canada (AESAC);
  • Your experience with a professional services firm (Environmental assessment for Phase I and II sites, land remediation) represents a significant asset;
  • You have experience in performing environmental compliance audits of various facilities;
  • You are skilled in written and verbal English communication. To be comfortable with French language represents an asset;
  • You are known for being accurate, thorough and resourceful, you have a strong sense of initiative, are independent and team oriented.
