Wage Funding Program For Highly Skilled Immigrants in the Environmental Sector

ECO Canada, in partnership with the Government of Canada, is pleased to be offering training and wage funding as part of a pilot project. The main goal of this program is to help support newcomers find their first Canadian work experience in the environmental sector. This program offers eligible candidates a training program and potential wage subsidy of up to $10,000. 

Become a pre-approved candidate by completing the following questions to determine your eligibility for the program. To be eligible for participation in this program, candidates must meet all of the following criteria. You must:

  • Be a permanent resident or have refugee status;
  • Have international environmental work experience;
  • Have graduated from a recognized post-secondary institution with a 2-year diploma or a 4-year degree;
  • Have a Canadian Language Benchmark of 7 or equivalent;
  • Be able to work in a full-time, permanent position;
  • Be unemployed or underemployed;
  • Not have participated previously in a Federal employment program;
  • Not be currently employed as a paid employee at the employer host organization; and
  • Not be a family member of the employer host organization’s directors or senior officers.

Are you currently unemployed or underemployed (i.e. not working in your field of expertise)?
