This course is intended to give you information about the resources available to support you in the growth and continued professional development throughout your environmental career. Learn about:

  • National Occupational Standards for Environmental Employment
  • Building your career and how ECO Canada can support you

2. Job Seeker Playbook

The Job Seeker Playbook is developed from insights from environmental employers, HR managers, and over two decades of labour market research.

The innovative interactive format can help you start applying what you’ve learned to your job search right away, including employer interviews, practical exercises, workbooks, and more.

This targeted course covers seven vital job-search topics you can complete in whatever order or pace you like.

3. Professional Communications

4. Technical Writing

This online technical writing course covers 7 key topics for environmental professionals and uses engaging videos and practical examples from environmental industry experts.

  • Technical reports
  • Proposal writing

A Certificate of Completion will be available for you to download at the completion of each course (with the exception of the Overview).

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the deadline to enroll?

There are no set enrollment dates, so you can start this on-demand program at any time. Once you’ve purchased the program you will have 6 months of full access to the 4 courses as outlined in the topics tab.

What is the program format?

This is an online, self-directed program. You will learn practical skills through expert videos, real-life scenarios, workbooks and more.

How will I be recognized once I’ve completed the program (all 4 courses)?

You’ll receive a formal Certificate of Completion upon completing all of the required topics. A certificate will be issued for each of the courses covered, with the exception of ‘An Overview of the Canadian Environmental Sector’ and ‘Job Seeker Playbook.’ This program also counts towards professional development credits for EP Certification.

Do I need to buy separate course materials (e.g. textbooks, guides, etc.)?

All of your learning materials are included, so you don’t need to buy anything extra.

How long does this program take?

It should take between 10 to 20 hours to complete all the courses in this program. You choose the pace and order that you want to complete the courses and topics.

What if I have questions during the course or encounter issues trying to complete a course?

If you have any questions while moving through the courses, you can send them to training@eco.ca and someone will get back to you within 2-3 business days.
