Job Description

Are you looking for a role where you will truly make a difference and contribute to a growing industry in Canada? ECO Canada is looking for performance-driven individual to join the team immediately. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Employment Programs, the successful candidate will have a passion for the environment and expertise in customer service and marketing.

As a key member of the Employment Programs team, the Customer Engagement Co-op Student will be responsible assisting with prospecting new clients, outreach to new and existing clients, and supporting the Employment Programs team with various administrative duties. While each member of ECO Canada has individual responsibilities, ECO takes a team-based approach. Everyone is encouraged to take ownership of his/her ideas and to see them through to completion, collaborating with key influencers as required.

Responsibilities

  Customer Engagement

  • Research potential organizations/employer leads and potential new markets
    • Pre-qualify organizations by researching online to determine fit for the wage funding programs
  • Respond to general emails & filter/sort other emails that need to be addressed by Placement Coordinators;
  • Determine how ECO Canada’s wage funding programs can support existing and new clients alike and pitch relevant products, programs and/or services
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and work to establish a positive rapport with every contact
  • Record and track all prospective and existing contact calls using in-house CRM and various other contact sources
    • Update customer information and status of communications in the customer service database and corresponding prospecting lists
  • Stay on-top of new trends emerging in the environmental sector by researching, subscribing to appropriate newsletters, and reading ECO Canada’s research reports
  • Assist in business development opportunities, which may include external email and call campaigns


  Marketing & Communications

  • Help determine marketing collateral and support content development for the Employment Programs
  • Assist the Marketing team to write, update, and edit the content and design of printed materials for the Employment Programs team
  • Monitor, manage, develop, and update content for social media platforms and our website
  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Human Resources
  • Computer skills and experience with MS Office, particularly with Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Some experience with digital platforms such as WordPress, Google Analytics, Click Dimensions (or equivalent), Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Eventbrite, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and desire to connect with people in working in all areas of the environmental sector
  • Great attitude and ability to maintain control while coordinating activities and balancing multiple priorities
  • Exceptional time-management, organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Strong telephone and email communications skills
  • Desire to work in a results-focused environment
  • Well-developed, independent work ethic along with ability to communicate with the team and external parties;
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal oversight
  • Fluency in French will be considered an asset
