Job Description

We are currently seeking an ambitious, self-starter to join our team immediately. The Environmental & Regulatory Advisor will conduct studies and field programs related to the environmental and regulatory projects undertaken by the company. The advisor will assume the responsibility of the environmental compliance and auditing needs of Amberg clients. They will also contribute to the day-to-day operations of Amberg Corp. and support project work as assigned.


Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Managing environmental projects
• Monitoring environmental/regulatory changes and advising management of any changes
• Preparing technical proposals and participating in business development with existing clients and identified leads
• Undertaking Environment Canada (NPRI, GHGRP, MSAPR, etc.), AB Environment (Air Monitoring Directive) and AER   (Benzene, Methane Emissions Reduction and LDAR) Programs
• Development of regulatory applications
• Managing the implementation, creation, auditing of environmental programs
• Participating in policy and procedure development
• Overseeing client care and market development


• Leading and participating in CEMS, NOx, and compliance audits
• Leading in the CCIR/ TIER; Offset and other provincial GHG verifications
• Supervising/ Implementing policies and procedures (i.e. checklists, document control, reports, peer review procedure, etc.)
• Administering contracts/agreements
• Ensuring verification activities adequacy
• Supporting the development of Verification Statements
• Delegating appropriate authority to individuals/groups/committees
• Writing and editing reports for our clients
• Ensure client meetings occur as required and meeting minutes are taken


Skills and Competencies

• Solid working knowledge of the political and regulatory environment in the oil and gas industry
• Able to manage multiple projects, while maintaining flexibility
• Ability to travel and work independently with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to follow timelines/milestones and meet deadlines
• Experience in writing technical reports, with excellent analytical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
• Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills

Qualifications and Education

• P. Eng. in good standing, member of APEGA
• 5+ years experience as an auditor with risk-based audit protocols
• GHG verification certification ISO 14064 Part 1, -2, -3
• Understanding and expertise of auditing programs (AEP – CCIR, BCOGC GHG)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Valid Driver’s License
• H2S alive and first aid considered an asset
• Certified in ISO 14001:2015 is considered an asset
• Air Dispersion modeling (AERMOD; CALPUFF) trained is considered an asset
• Bilingual in English and French considered an asset
