The Environmental Safety Consultant provides on-site technical support during the remediation of hazardous materials for commercial, industrial, and residential clients. They monitor and analyze air quality during these projects to ensure it is within safe levels for workers and for re-occupation by the public upon completion. They also participate in various types of environmental safety assessments to determine the existence of hazardous materials within a structure or to measure levels of contaminants within a space. The Environmental Safety Consultant creates clear, well-written documentation that accurately reflects ASE Services’ findings and recommendations for each project.
•Collect samples of building materials that have the potential to contain hazardous materials, such as asbestos, mould, lead, etc
•Conduct air monitoring and inspections during hazardous material remediation projects to ensure air levels remain safe for workers and the public
•Conduct other safety assessments as required. These may include hygiene, LEED, and other indoor air quality issues
•Analyze air samples to determine whether they are below the legislated Occupational Exposure Limit
•Create accurate and detailed letters and reports containing sample results, findings, and recommendations for each client
•Communicate effectively with contractors regarding projects, clients regarding questions and results, co-workers and management regarding pertinent information, questions, and issues.
