Pacificus Biological Services Ltd. is a Vancouver Island based natural resource management company is currently hiring full-time positions for our Port Hardy and Campbell River offices.  Pacificus is a dynamic environmental consulting company that has a team approach to conducting our client services.  We have registered professional biologists, biologists, technologists, and commercial divers on our team that conduct assessments, provide recommendations, and assist clients through developments.

Job Description

The candidate’s responsibilities will include:
• Collecting field data, compiling field notes and photographs;
• Working on various field projects including, but not limited to: stream classification, habitat assessments, fish sampling, marine assessments, and environmental monitoring;
• Assisting senior staff with technical report preparation.

• Technical Diploma or University degree in applied biology or related field;
• Previous field working experience in coastal B.C.;
• Strong organizational and communication skills;
• Physically fit and willing to travel to and work in remote areas;
• Strong fish identification skills and the ability to collect detailed and thorough field notes;
• Previous experience conducting FRPA stream classifications and providing environmental monitoring services to industry;
• Must be able to work independently or in a team environment;
• Strong computer skills;

• Valid backpack electrofishing certificate;
• Transport Canada’s Small Vessel Operator Proficiency certification (SVOP);
• Mapping and GIS skills.
