Job Description

This role will focus primarily on the Environment Pillar of The Saputo Promise. Under the supervision of the Director, Corporate Responsibility, you will manage the development of global processes and tools, enabling and supporting teams in Canada, the US, Argentina, Australia and the UK to achieve our global environmental objectives. You will achieve this by building constructive and effective relationships with departments and divisions and developing a deep understanding of desired business outcomes.

As part of this role, you will have the following responsibilities:

• Design and develop our global resource efficiency program across the company’s operations, leading our efforts in energy and water efficiency and waste minimization, by: 
   o Developing global processes and tools to identify, implement, evaluate, calculate, track and analyze resource efficiency projects.
   o Implementing a global employee engagement and communication program to drive employee engagement and buy-in- especially at plant-level
   o Providing assistance to Divisions in the identification, prioritization, and management of resources efficiency projects
   o Supporting tactical execution of divisional initiatives when needed.
• Developing global processes and tools to facilitate the execution of our sustainable packaging targets including serving as an internal subject matter expert on our global Sustainable Packaging Network.
• Enable best practice sharing within and across Divisions and serving as an internal subject matter expert on sustainability and resource efficiency issues.
• Participate in the development of global goals, initiatives and/or plans to support on-going or new environmental initiatives, taking into account cost effectiveness, feasibility, and stakeholder buy-in.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field;
• Minimum of 7 years' experience in corporate responsibility, environment or sustainability roles;
• Direct professional experience in implementing effective resource efficiency program/ sustainability project in a manufacturing setting, preferably dairy.
• Highly motivated self-starter that can operate independently with limited oversight
• Ability to break down complex problems in to pieces that can be solved with data, analysis, assumptions, and judgment
• Strong ability and willingness to work independently and collaboratively, with all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrates professionalism, dependability, integrity, and trustworthiness, gaining respect amongst leadership and peers.
