As a Vegetation Ecologist you will work on all phases of resource development and permitting projects, including environmental assessments, permitting and compliance. You will collaborate with project management, regulatory, wildlife, soils, GIS and reclamation professionals and provide sound advice related to vegetation and wetlands management.
This role can be located in Sidney, Burnaby, Kelowna, Kamloops or Terrace, BC.
Your Key Responsibilities
To design and implement baseline vegetation surveys for species and ecosystems
To classify and map ecosystems following Terrestrial Ecosystem Mapping and Sensitive Ecosystem Inventory protocols
To conduct vegetation field surveys, including rare plant surveys, weed surveys, vegetation monitoring, wetland surveys, tree inventories, and/or ecosystem classification surveys
To contribute to environmental plans related to vegetation and wetlands management
To write technical reports presenting results of baseline studies, assessing potential effects to plants and ecosystems, and describing suitable management and mitigation measures
To develop restoration and/or revegetation plans and designs
